How to use the piston release and bleeding tool for service of the brake calipers
Tools Needed
- Q-tips or small brush
- Hex or screw driver to remove the brake pad bolt
- Plastic lever or special brake service tool
- Individual bleeding tools
Service Steps - Bleed Block
- Remove the wheel
- Disassemble the pads
- Clean the pistons before pushing them back to prevent dirt from getting into the piston seals
- Push all pistons to the back, using a plastic lever or special service tool
- Insert the bleed block side and proceed with your individual bleeding tools
- After your bleeding process is finish remove the block
- Assemble the pads on the caliper
- Fit the wheel onto the frame/fork
Service Steps - Tool Block Piston Release
- Remove the wheel
- Disassemble the pads
- Clean the pistons before pushing them back to prevent dirt from getting into the piston seals
- Push all pistons to the back using a plastic lever or special service tool
- Insert the tool block side and secure with bolt
- Push the brake lever and realease the stuck piston
- Remove the block, clean the released piston and proced with all other pistons as well
- Assemble the pads on the caliper
- Fit the wheel onto the frame/fork
